Sweden posts — in-person collection is nearly nonexistent in the civil documents flow. The real Swedish 'collection' is checking the personbevis arrived in the right variant and taking it to the right notary.
The absolute postal standard
The Skatteverket issues and posts; the archives certify and post. The usual design: a Swedish address (or the executor) to receive, the Notarius Publicus to apostille, courier to cross. The in-person service agencies (servicekontor) exist — for residents and one-off cases.
The fullmakt
- When someone acts for you (collecting at a servicekontor, requesting certifications): the written fullmakt — the grantor, the bearer, the act, a signature, document copies.
- The Nordic standard: simple, no notary, checked with seriousness.
The variant check
Before apostilling: does the personbevis carry the fields the proceeding requires? Parentage? Marital status? The wrong variant apostilled is the guaranteed second round — and the reissuance is free, but the notary and the courier are not. Check first, stamp after.

The Notarius Publicus — the most convenient for whoever holds the paper (any one serves), a moderate fee, quick service, frequently without booking. The corridor's easiest leg.
