Shipping documents safely from Japan to Brazil
The Japanese shipment has a physical particularity: a lineage's koseki is a SET — dozens of pages that cannot be separated. The package is bigger, the care is the same: MOFA first, scanner always, full tracking.
Before shipping: the MOFA and the scanner
The MOFA apostille (Tokyo/Osaka; as a rule free — counter or domestic post) comes BEFORE the crossing. Mind the set: each document (the tōhon, each joseki) takes its own apostille. And digitise page by page — the digitised kanji are the map of future searches and the physical copy's safety net.

A rigid envelope/box for the set without folds, inner plastic, page order preserved (clips, not staples through the apostilles), the complete Brazilian address with postal code and phone with country code, the declaration “personal documents, no commercial value”.
If it goes missing
The koseki remains at the municipality — replacement repeats the ritual (kogitte, return envelope...) or the trip. Since the Japanese cycle from abroad is the corridor's longest, prevention is worth double: duplicate copies at issuance, complete digitisation, and the most-tracked shipping the budget allows.
