Mexican tracking is conversational: e-mail exists, but the phone and the ventanilla solve — with cordiality, patience and the folio in hand. Whoever understands that rhythm navigates; whoever expects a written answer in three days, suffers.
The references
The trámite's folio, the date, the body and — in acta orders — the CURP or the record's details. State portals with procedure lookup exist and improve every year; where there is none, the tracking is human.
The channels, the Mexican way
- The body's phone in the mornings: the real channel — with local courtesy yielding more than insistence.
- The lookup portal, when the state has one: the first place to look.
- E-mail: works at the big bodies; weeks of latency at the rest.

Realistic timelines
An acta in the system: minutes (portal/kiosk). A book search: weeks. Corrections and procedures with review: months, in stages. The state apostille: hours to days, per the state. Variation between states is the rule — Nuevo León's timeline doesn't hold for Oaxaca.
When to escalate
Two calls without progress → the ventanilla. The Mexican tracking mission is short and cheap: “go to oficialía X, folio Y, find out the status and what's missing” — and it comes back with the answer the same day, frequently with the document along.
