How to request a certificate at the Chilean Civil Registry

The portal and the open certificates
At registrocivil.cl, the certificates 'para todo trámite' come out without authentication for the standard cases — birth, marriage, death. The version with ClaveÚnica (residents) opens additional variants. The PDF arrives by email in minutes, with code verification.

The pre-1885: the parishes
Colonial and early republican baptisms and marriages live at the parishes and the archives of the Archbishopric of Santiago (and diocesan ones) — massively microfilmed by the genealogy projects. Online research locates; the certification comes from the ecclesiastical institution with a modest fee.
