How to request a certificate at a Lithuanian skyrius
The metrication skyrius serves with Baltic efficiency — objective, punctual, without flourishes. The right prašymas (application), the small fee paid, and the certificate comes out. From abroad, the įgaliojimas is the ticket; for the roots, the LVIA is the address.
The prašymas and the kit
- Name with the inflections and variants (Kazlauskas and the feminine forms; the Polonised one; the Brazilianised one).
- Date and place of the event — with the current Lithuanian name and the historical one (Vilnius was Wilno).
- Parents' names; the asmens kodas (personal code) when it exists.
- The type: gimimo (birth), santuokos (marriage), mirties (death) — įrašas/išrašas per the use.
- Connection, purpose, identification — and the įgaliojimas for third parties.

Email to the skyriai (they answer, in Lithuanian; English in the cities) and the post with the complete package; the e-services for the credentialed. The fees are small and payable by European transfer — the payment knot, mild Baltic version.

The Historical Archive answers international requests by email — in Lithuanian or English — with a search quote when open and direct certification when referenced. For the Litvak and tsarist Catholic fonds, it is the counter of the entire 19th century.
