How to get an Uzbek certificate without travelling

Uzbekistan registers at the FHDYo (the Uzbek ZAGS) with my.gov.uz digitising on top, and has been in the Hague since 2012: the apostille closes without a chain. The corridor keeps archive treasures: Stalin's DEPORTEES (Koreans, Crimean Tatars, Germans) passed through Central Asia — and Samarkand and Bukhara keep millennia-old Jewish lines.

The FHDYo and the digital

The records live in the civil registry by district — my.gov.uz issues to the logged-in; the counter covers the rest. The modern ones come out in Uzbek (Latin in transition — the Cyrillic coexists!); the Soviet ones, in Russian in the archives by viloyat.

Hague since 2012

The Uzbek apostille comes from the justice ministry (civil records) — days. The corridor of Central Asia's most populous country runs organised.

The typical route

Certificate via executor/ishonchnoma (power of attorney) → apostille → courier from Tashkent (4-7 days) → translation from Russian (the easy lane) or from Uzbek (rare). The deportees' roots live in the archives: the Koryo-saram of 1937, the Tatars of 1944, the Germans — papers worth citizenships and returns.

Heads up

Uzbek has lived an alphabet transition (Cyrillic→Latin) for three decades — the same name comes out in three spellings depending on the era and the counter. The spelling note in the translation is no luxury: it's what prevents the requisition in the Brazilian chain.
