How to get a Tanzanian certificate without travelling
Tanzania registers at RITA (the national registration agency) — on the MAINLAND: Zanzibar, autonomous, has its OWN civil registry. The country is outside the Hague: the Tanzanian MFA + Brazilian embassy in Dar es Salaam chain closes. Swahili and English official — the certificate comes out in English or bilingual; the sworn translation closes easily.
RITA and Zanzibar
RITA covers the mainland — the districts register, the agency consolidates, the certificate comes out in English. ZANZIBAR (Unguja and Pemba) keeps its own agency with its own rites: whoever was born in the archipelago resolves it in the archipelago. The Tanzanian union is real in the papers too — two systems, one country.
The chain without the Hague
The rite: certificate (RITA or Zanzibar) → the Tanzanian MFA → the Brazilian embassy in Dar → the world. Links of days-weeks; Dar concentrates the mainland's series; Zanzibar adds the arm of sea.
The typical route
Certificate via executor/power of attorney → MFA → embassy → courier from Dar (4-7 days) → sworn English translation. Late registration is routine; the national campaigns regularised generations — the note explains without drama.
Zanzibar is no detail: an autonomous civil registry, its own offices, its own rites. A Stone Town document doesn't come out of RITA — and vice versa. The first question of every Tanzanian mission is: mainland or archipelago?
