The three copies

- The copia fiel del libro — the certified reproduction of the original page, with margin annotations: the format for proceedings that require the full transcript and for old records whose digital capture oversimplified.
- The online copy (national portal) — the certified PDF with validation: perfect for domestic uses and reviews; to apostille, confirm whether YOUR state accepts it.
When each serves
Administrative use and most proceedings: the apostilled certified copy solves it. Document chains with rectifications and annotations — or old handwritten acts: the copia fiel shows what the capture hides. In doubt for a foreign proceeding, the safe pair: certified + copia fiel, apostilled together — the extra Mexican copy costs little.
Spellings and annotations
Old actas captured digitally sometimes 'normalised' accents and abbreviations — when the spelling matters (and in a document chain it always does), the copia fiel is the arbiter. Divergences between the acta and the chain's Brazilian documents are treated before the trip: a translator's note or the Mexican administrative correction.
The typical package for use in Brazil
The acta (certified and/or fiel) + the issuing state's apostille + sworn translation from Spanish in Brazil. Practical validity: destinations ask for recent issuance (6-12 months) — and since Mexican reissuance is cheap and fast, syncing with the use costs nothing.
